BOOK

My self-written, typeset, and published book, The Last Pianist, is a collection of poetry and historical fiction, structured as a classical music concert.

I would tell you to check it out, but hey, first, you might want a snippet of an excerpt from one of the stories:

The Last Pianist, A Story in Four Movements

Every moment in history has a story in it, and every story is worth recording on paper. Cut apart the long stream of history and it would leave us small snippets of moments that inspire, move, or torment the soul itself. Capturing these meaningful moments, no matter from actual history or from a fictional world, serves to make the real world more colorful: new experiences and perspectives shining through the pages from a distant realm, right into our all-too-familiar lives. In many ways, music also serves the same purpose with very similar narratives and storytelling elements that reach the well-hidden corners of our hearts and vibrate the dusty strings long untouched by emotions.

This book is a written concert in the classical style. I believe in the ability of music to communicate just as well, or even better, as words themselves; and this is an experiment on playing with narrative capabilities. The concert begins with 12 Preludes and Fugues as an homage to Bach, followed by three bigger “pieces” or multi-chapter stories, ends with the story of a pianist frantically trying to awaken the long-lost sound of music, in a world that no longer appreciates or allows the expression of self. And how will the last pianist survive in a world that needs no pianists - or will he not?
